The Art of
Museum-ing
Curiosity, entertainment, a sense of belonging.
The Russian love for museums is iconic in the city of St. Petersburg where Peter the Great centuries ago collected curiosities to exhibit to his people. Years later, Catherine the Great built a palace to house her significant art collections (now known as the Hermitage).
Today, the many museums available to a curious public is more than impressive - and sometimes the visitors are as much fun to observe as the displays. In Russia, everyone loves a museum! Children, babas, teens and tourists are all part of the anthropology of these houses of wonder.
